The answer appears to be nothing, but the theory behind behind both parties is everything. Lately, you might not be able to tell the difference as both parties have done things harmful to America and personal liberty.
Whether it’s bailouts, unfunded wars, raising taxes, stealing, or something else both parties are responsible.
Here is one thing that has become more clear to me after this healthcare reform passed. The republicans opposed this plan not because they didn’t want people to get affordable health care; I mean use common sense. If you asked any sitting member of the congress or senate questions like: “Wouldn’t it be nice if everyone had affordable healthcare?” How many of them would say no? I don’t know the answer to that but I would say almost no one.
So the ideology is not really different, perhap the philosophy is, who knows. But most people in this country are still religious and believe in the ten commandments, here’s one for you: “Though Shall Not Steal.”
Whether you’re religious or not, it doesn’t matter, most people would agree that stealing is wrong. What the democrats seem to be doing is using an emotional appeal to the American population to make claims how good this health care reform is the way they passed it. I heard one democratic member of congress say during the debates that when she thought about this health bill she only thought of this one lady and her scenario and whether or not it would help her. Seriously? You don’t represent one person or one scenario, I have no idea how she got into congress, but shouldn’t you consider the overall impact to your constituents? How can you base your vote for this bill on just that alone?
How about abortion? How can vote for or against something based on abortion clauses? Why is abortion even talked about at all on the federal level? That’s a social issue, there are plenty organizations for and against it, why is the federal government involved in this? Why is there even “Federal” money that’s available to be used for or not for abortion, that’s ridiculous, this money shoudln’t exist, which it doesn’t because it’s stolen or printed.
So what the Democrats have said with this Health Bill Passage is that it’s alright to steal; if you believe your views are right. You can steal money from tax payers, through further taxation, redistribution of wealth, whatever, it’s still stealing. You’re taking money from one person against their will with the threat of force, from the IRS or another part of the government. How can you pass anything that requires money be forcably taken from people? How can you pass something with a 219-212 with elected representitives and think that that majority is anything but a mathematical majority? 219-212 with polls showing most americans dislike the legislation, that leaves a lot of room for angry people. People’s who’s life have been adversely affected by this passage while possibly helping some others at their expense. All done by theft. Why is it okay to abandon the principles of thou shall not steal in order to accomplish a 219-212 majorities vision?
Now I don’t think any bill should be passed in either house or senate without at least 75% of both houses and preferrably more than 90%. Even if you have 9/10 people wanting to pass something, it’s still not right to force that 1 person into something, they should be able to opt out of anything and be given freedom of choice. I mean, that is, afterall what america was founded on. You can think what you want, say what you want, and do what you want; as long as you don’t harm anyone else.
Well, the healthcare bill harms people, a lot of people, and the news stations wonder why people are angry? In congress or the senate these might be magical numbers and useless debates that happen, but they affect real living people, and when you mess with people and cause them further hardships, yes they are going to be angry with you.
I don’t advocate that anyone commits any acts of violence or promotes it. But these bills are directly affecting and angering people. I don’t understand why anyone, republican or democrat, would get on the TV and say I don’t understand why people are so angry, let’s be more civil. As if civility was what formed the United States of America or has made it the great nation it is today. Yes, let’s just be more civil King of England, we can talk these taxes out… Get real!
Government shouldn’t be doing anything but protecting our rights, they shoudln’t be distributing money or even collecting money in excess of paying for their jobs, they can pass regulations and set rules for America and businesses, but not if it requires money to be moved, then it shouldn’t be considered. If you need to fund anything, it shouldn’t even be considered or by donations only. And it definitely shouldn’t become law without a real majority, 90% or more. Health Insurance companies you can’t do this, banks you can’t do that, americans you can’t kill each other; why has it become any more complex than that? States fund their police departments and enforce laws, there shoudln’t even be a federal agency for anything but defense, but I guess everything is for “defense” now, what a distortion. Setting a baseline of rules like the constitution did was great, there should be no federal laws now unless states ratify it into the constitution or bill of rights. States and smaller bodies are better able to create and enforce laws good for their own people. Local communities know what will be good for them. You can’t make decisions for local bodies when you’re part of 435 people in the Congress that represents 300 million people. That creates a severe problem of inadequate representation.
Congress used to meet only a few times a year. I think that was a good system. Being a representative shouldn’t be a full time job at a federal level. They’ve made it into one by discussing things they never should be discussing.
