First You Have To Row A Little Boat Book Review By Thomas Van

This story about a boat and the struggles of sailing is a metaphor for the struggle we all face in our journey through life. The wisdom gained from this book I found extremely useful in helping me get through my life from day to day.

This book was both motivating and inspiring. When I picked it up I didn’t put it back down until I had finished the book. The book itself is only 200 pages in the small hardcover version I read making it very easy to read.

The story was both enticing and thrilling. It served as a great reminder for life.

People pick up sailing with the dreams and hopes of sailing all around the world and being completely free, but before you can sail, you first have to be able to row a little boat. Everything in life works this way. There are baby steps that everyone needs to take to get where they are going. There are fundamentals and principles needed to advance and progress through the stages of life.

There are so many lessons to be learned and using sailing as a metaphor for life the author was able to brilliantly weave in a life lesson for each chapter. There are so many positive quotes that my copy of this book has highlights all over it so that I can remember these tidbits of wisdom later.

It’s a book that’s definitely worth reading for people searching for the meaning of life and living it can greatly enhance your perspective on it all.
